VOGS+ Vocational Guidance Standard Model for Deaf People in Europe

Our goal:
Our project will consider special needs in vocational guidance supporting the Deaf with adequate educational measures adapted exactly to their needs and possibilities, in order to raise their level of participation in the Labour market and society.

Adequate vocational guidance will help the Deaf to learn about their existing or desired qualifications, to choose a profession compatible with their personal features, acquire new skills and update knowledge.
 
The project will improve equality and social integration by establishing a vocational guidance standard for the Deaf in Estonia (EE), the Netherlands (NL) and in Turkey (TR) at the same time.
Therefore we will apply the experience and results of the Austrian partner and his partners within the European vocational guidance standard VOGS, completing and testing it with the experiences resulting from the establishment of VOGS+ in EE, NL and TR.
 
The expected result is a complete toolbox for the vocational guidance of the Deaf developed, discussed and complemented in close exchange of the partners: the general description of the innovative model with video components, scientifically approved tests for the Deaf, including evaluation and interpretation schemes and guidelines for counsellors, profiling, vocational guidance specialists in tandem (hearing and deaf) from every partner country trained to work with VOGS+ and the VOGS+ training program for further training of counsellors.
 
The immediate target group are the educational and vocational guidance counsellors and teachers working with deaf clients primarily in the project partner states Estonia, the Netherlands, Turkey and Austria but through the Valorisation Strategy also in others EU Member states and in the world.
 
 
The target sector will consist of three types of organisations working:
  • in the field of vocational rehabilitation, guidance, training, education etc.;
  • in the field of employment;
  • in the sphere related to Deaf people
