Orienting Blind Visually Impaired (Leonardo)

Das Projekt beschäftigt sich mit den Bedürfnissen von jungen sehbehinderten Menschen in Bezug auf ihre persönliche und berufliche Verwirklichung. Die Sehbehinderung ist ein Problem, das die ganze Familie betrifft und zu psychosozialen Krisen führen kann. Die Familie ist eine der wichtigsten Faktoren für eine erfolgreiche Rehabilitation – die Entwicklung von Selbstbewusstsein und die Motivation zum Erwerb von professionellen Fähigkeiten hängt stark vom Verständnis und von der Unterstützung der Familie ab. Daher sollen Trainings für Eltern und Verwandte entwickelt werden, damit sie aktiv den Prozess der beruflichen und persönlichen Entwicklung der sehbehinderten Familienangehörigen unterstützen können.

The project’s concerns are the needs of young, visually impaired people concerning their personal and vocational realization. Visual impairment is a problem that involves the whole family and can lead to psycho-social crises. The family is one of the most important factors for a successful rehabilitation. The development of the self-confidence and the motivation necessary to acquire professional competencies is strongly dependent on the family’s understanding and support. Therefore training for parents and relatives is being developed, so that they can actively support the process of the personal and vocational development of the visually impaired family member.
