Integrate Minorities (Leonardo)

Entwicklungen in ganz Europa zeigen, dass es einen wachsenden Mangel an (höheren) FacharbeiterInnen im Gesundheits- und Sozialpflegesektor gibt. Auf der anderen Seite wird MigrantInnen und RepräsentantInnen von ethnischen Minderheiten aufgrund niedriger Bildungsniveaus sehr oft der Zugang zu gut bezahlten Arbeitsplätzen verwehrt. Das Projekt Integrate Minorities hat es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht, einen neuen Ausbildungskurs für die Gesundheits- und Sozialpflege zu entwickeln und diesen auf die speziellen Lernbedürfnisse von MigrantInnen und RepräsentantInnen von Minderheiten abzustimmen. Dadurch hofft die Projektgruppe, zum einen den Anteil der Zielgruppe in der Ausbildung von Gesundheits- und Sozialpflegeberufen zu erhöhen und zum anderen gleichzeitig deren Ausbildungsabbruchquote zu senken.
 
Developments all over Europe show that there is increasing lack of professional staff working in the health and social care sector, especially on higher level. On the other hand, migrants and representatives of ethnical minorities are often excluded from well paid jobs due to a lack of proper education. The Integrate Minorities Project is going to set up special health and social care training programs for migrants and representatives of ethnical minorities; by paying respect to their special learning needs, the project group hopes to increase the number of these target group students in health and social care course as well as to decrease their number of drop-outs.
